We at SAMSOE believe that simply studying from textbooks is not enough. In today's world, a holistic and well-rounded education is required. To that end, students are often shown films of various kinds as a part of the curriculum which aids in the learning process.

Games & Experiments

Economics concepts are taught through different games & experiments. Concepts such as law of variable proportion, oligopoly pricing, gains to trade, game theory are taught through innovative games.

An Innovative method of learning:

The T.Y.B. Sc Economics students tutored the first year students for Intermediate Mathematics under the guidance of Prof. Rohit Muraleedharan.

This not only helped the first year in understanding and practicing mathematical concepts but also aided greatly the T.Y. students in the better understanding of concepts.

Convocation 2013

It was indeed a proud moment for all at The Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics as the first batch of 29 students graduated on 13 July, 2013. The Convocation ceremony was held at the Bhaidas Maganlal Sabhagrih at 3 pm for School of Science, Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics and Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce. The Chief Guest was Ms. Ashu Suyash, Chief Executive Officer, L & T Mutual Fund and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Mustansir Barma, Director, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.

The Convocation ceremony started with the academic procession amidst a lot of fanfare. The Convocation was declared open by the Nominee of the Chancellor and Vice President SVKM, Mr. Pravin Gandhi. Degrees were conferred by the Nominee of the Chancellor Mr. Pravin Gandhi, Honorary Secretary of SVKM, Mr. Sunandan Divatia, Honorary Treasurer of SVKM, Mr. Utpal Bhayani and the Vice Chancellor of NMIMS, Dr. Rajan Saxena.

The Convocation address was given by Ms. Ashu Suyash, Chief Executive Officer, L & T Mutual Fund who exhorted the students to take with them certain important learning which would not only help them in their future jobs but would also help them in life.

The Convocation ceremony was followed by refreshments for all the dignitaries, faculty, staff parents and students. A Yearbook for the graduating batch was published and distributed.
