Theme – Shaping the Future: India's Sustainable Strategies for 2030

 


The 7th Annual Economics Conference by Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics (SAMSOE), NMIMS, Mumbai, in collaboration with The Indian Econometric Society (TIES), focuses on assessing India's progress towards SDGs. The SDGs, adopted by 193 United Nations Member States in 2015, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The conference aims to bring together experts to evaluate achievements, identify challenges, and strategize for the future.

 

Key sub-themes included but not limited to the following:

  • Quality Education for a Sustainable Future
  • Decent Jobs, Unemployment and Informality

  • Macroeconomic stability and Sustainability
  • Digital Transformation and Digital Divide
  • Inclusive Development: Bridging Divides and Ensuring Equality

  • Policy Integration: Aligning National Strategies with SDGs
  • Innovation and Technology for Sustainable Solutions
  • External Debt and Financing Sustainability

The conference aims to provide a platform for comprehensive discussions on India's path towards achieving the UN's 2030 Agenda.

Venue: Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics, NMIMS, Mumbai

Submit research papers which should not exceed 10,000 words and must include a brief abstract of 250 words, through email to aec@nmims.edu. There is no submission fee.

Authors of papers that are selected for presentation during the conference will have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 500. Details regarding mode of payment will be communicated to the selected participants.

Research Colloquium: We plan to host a Research Colloquium on the conference day specifically tailored for economics students in the initial phases of their research (UG, PG, 1st Year Ph.D.). Participants can submit either complete papers or research proposals, indicating their intention to present within the research colloquium during the submission process. Submission should be emailed to aec@nmims.edu . No registration fee will be charged from authors of papers that are selected for presentation during the research colloquium.
