Social Sunday by Elcity Club

ELCITY held its first Social Sunday for the year 2023-24 on 3rd   September 2023. The event was conducted based on the theme of World Nutrition Day and Teacher’s Day. We collaborated with Junoon Foundation for the same which has multiple branches in Mumbai mainly for the betterment of under-privileged children.

We helped helping the children recognise all the healthy food items from amongst multiple food pictures printed and colouring them up with radiant crayons. We also helped them to decorate the teacher’s day cards for their beloved teachers.

We ended the day by distributing bananas and chocolates to each of them and an oath in our hearts to keep doing such services for the society we live in.

Social Sunday by Elcity Club

ELCITY's Social Sunday on 8th October, 2023 was focused on the importance of mental health awareness. We collaborated with the Sparkling Wings NGO, which empowers through education, humanitarian aid, and environmental action.

We had two activities planned for kids which initiated conversations about mental health while allowing kids to show their creative sides. Through the first activity, Emotional self-portrait, we related emotions with colors and talked to kids about identifying and differentiating emotions, after which they filled in an outline of the human head with whatever they felt through the colors assigned. Then the children drew emoticons which they most identified with at the moment.

Our volunteers helped every child express themselves via art, while having engaging conversations about situations that elicit extreme emotional reactions and how they can be handled.

Friendship Day by Elcity Club
Friendship Day is a day to celebrate the importance of friends in our lives. It is a time to show our appreciation for the people who are always there for us, through thick and thin.

We celebrated the day by doing something that had never been done previously on campus, something which made everyone nostalgic. Forms were rolled out, giving students the option to send friendship bands and customized cards to their friends and the faculty.

The bands were distributed throughout the college campus on the 7th of August giving  everyone a tint of surprise and happiness in a split second. We couldn't help but capture the thousand-dollar smiles on everyone's faces while receiving them and hugging their loved ones with utmost delight and teary eyes.

This event left an indelible mark on the club as it was the first event hosted for 2023-24. We were overflooded with responses which have moved us to come up with even better events for the entire year.

Independence Day by Elcity Club
On 15th August 1947, our honourable prime minister first unruled the flag at the historic Red Fort in Delhi reciting our National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana'.

ELCITY, the art club of SAMSOE brought the essence of our nation's spirit on 12th August 2023, to the school as we celebrated the freedom we cherish on Independence Day!

All the classrooms were decorated with tricolour streamers and beautiful backgrounds on smartboards. Everyone filled up with excitement whilst clicking pictures and videos on the photo booth made by us.

Digitally we celebrated by asking our fellow Indians, what they love about our nation through our Instagram page.

This combined with all dressed up in the colours of the Indian flag set the patriotic mood up for the whole day and left an indelible mark on the college.
