6th Annual Economics Conference
The Sixth Annual Economics Conference organized by Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics (SAMSOE), NMIMS, Mumbai in collaboration with The Indian Econometric Society (TIES) was held on 25th March, 2023. The theme for this year was ‘Macroeconomic Policy Making: Prospects and Challenges’. The Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ashima Goyal, Emeritus Professor of Economics, Indira Gandhi Institute for Development Research (IGIDR) and Member, RBI-Monetary Policy Committee on "Handling of Growth and Inflation Dynamics in India under Plurishock” and Dr Irudaya Rajan, former Professor at Centre for Development Studies (Trivandrum) and Chair, The International Institute of Migration and Development (IIMAD), Trivandrum delivered the conference speech on "Future of Migration in the post Covid-19 Scenario”. The technical sessions followed by the inaugural session were chaired by Dr. Ruchi Singh, TISS, Mumbai, Dr. Kalpana Tokas, SBM, NMIMS, Mumbai, Dr Jyoti Parimal Sarkar, SOC, NMIMS, Mumbai, Dr Pulkit Nigam, SAMSOE, NMIMS, Mumbai. Soumya Sankar Chakraborty, Research Scholar, HSS, IIT Bombay and Dr. Subramania Raju Rajasulochana, Associate Professor, SBM Mumbai won the Best Paper Award that carried a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 7500. Gunpreesh Kaur, B.Sc. Economics, SAMSOE, NMIMS, Mumbai was adjudged as the best paper of the research colloquium which carried a certificate and cash prize of Rs. 5000.

Orientation 2022
The programme consisted of an inaugural session at Mukesh Patel Auditorium. Students were addressed by Shri. Shalin Divatia, Joint Secretary, SVKM & Mentor of NMIMS University. Prof. Amita Vaidya, Director, Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics, addressed the students and the parents an insight into the working of the School and the program details. The Second Year B. Sc. Economics students also shared their experiences at the School with the F.Y. B. Sc. Economics students.
