Offline Summer School on Data Wrangling and Analysis Using R

Date: 18 May – 22 May, 2026

Session Timings: 9:00 am – 10:30 am (Session 1) and 11:30 am - 1:00 pm (Session 2), with a 1-hour lunch and doubt-clearing break.

About the Program

• Hands-on Training: Practice-oriented approach combining short conceptual explanations with live coding demonstrations and guided exercises.
• Real-World Application: Work directly with real-world datasets to connect theoretical concepts to practical applications.
• Ready-to-Use Infrastructure: Every participant will be provided with a lab PC.
• Limited Seats: Maximum capacity of 50 seats on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Key Skills to acquire

• Import, manage, clean, and pre-process data from multiple file formats.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and descriptive statistics.
• Create high-quality static and interactive data visualizations.
• Conduct basic statistical analyses, including hypothesis testing, ANOVA, correlation, and linear regression.
• Prepare transparent, reproducible analytical reports using R Markdown or Quarto.

Eligibility

• Who should attend: Pre-graduates, undergraduate and postgraduate students (in Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Commerce, Management), research scholars, and faculty members
• Prerequisites: Basic understanding of introductory statistics. No prior programming experience is required.

• Course Fee: 5000 + 18% GST (as applicable) = 5900
• SVKM Students: Exempt from GST

Certification

• Participants who attend all sessions and successfully complete the required assessments (an applied mini-project and a short quiz/viva) will be awarded a Certificate of Completion in "Data Wrangling and Analysis Using R" issued by the Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics, NMIMS, Mumbai.

Cancellation Policy

• No refunds will be issued post-payment.
• Students must retain transaction proof for future reference.
• Course fee will be refunded in case the programme is cancelled due to any unforeseen reason.
