• The International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2020
Rishi
Venkateswaran from F.Y. B. Sc. participated in the International Economics
Olympiad, 2020, held online from 7th to 13th September 2020. He was among the 5
contestants to represent India. The competition was in the fields of economics
and finance. Rishi Venkateswaran won bronze medal. The competition also
included a lecture by Dr. Eric Maskin, Nobel Laureate in Economics.
Club Activities
• Book Club
Following activities were conducted under Book Club
·3rd October 2020 – Discussion held for the short novel "No Longer Human” by Osamu Dazai.
·11th October 2020 – Discussion held for 2 short stories, "The Gifts of War” by Margaret Drabble, and "The Brief Debut of Tildy” by O. Henry.
·17th October 2020 – Discussion held for two poems, "Dedication to Hunger” by Louise Glück (2020 Nobel Prize Laureate for Literature) and "The Second Coming” by William Butler Yeats.
·Written reviews on the two short stories discussed in September – "Stranger in the Village” by James Baldwin and "Everything is Green” by David Wallace.
·Started a fictional
series - "A Compendium of Missives from the Land of the Fantastical”, with the
name of the first and the second stories being – "Of Beginnings and Heroics”
and "Everything is Stranger” respectively. These stories are based on the first
two discussions – and this series will be continued.
• Literary Club
Literary club started an event ‘Terrative’ from 13th October 2020 to 26th October 2020. Participants were asked to give 1 to 3 line horror story. A total of 7 entries were received. On the basis of creativity, originality and relevance to the theme, the following students were adjudged as the winners: Vigil Gagrani (FY-C), Jagriti Jain (SY-A) and Manmath Agarwal (TY-A).

• Sports Club
The intra-college
quiz competition was held on 27th September 2020 by the Sports Club
of Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics. 21 students had participated in quiz
competition. Akrish Jhaveri and Prithvi Dhirwani were the winners who got cash
prize of Rs. 1,000/- and Rs. 500/- respectively.

E.L.C.I.T.Y., SAMSOE's Fine Arts Club organized a fashion design workshop on 18thSeptember 2020. The workshop was conducted by Tvisha Verma (SYA)andDanica D'Souza (SYB). It covered following points.

Webinar Organized
·On 17thOctober 2020 a webinar was conducted on "Social Entrepreneurship - An Economic Necessity”. The speaker was Mr. Sunil Arora, Executive director at Bal Asha Trust.
·E- Cell club of SAMSOE conducted a webinar on 4th October 2020. Ms. Mitali Mane from T.Y. B. Sc. interviewed guest Ms. Punit Anand, the founder of Luxury Pop. The topic was "A Roadmap to the Luxury Fashion Industry”.
